Our belief
Aura was founded on a simple premise: that the furniture industry had confused cheapness with accessibility, and volume with value.
We don't make fast furniture. We make furniture that takes 6 weeks and uses timber cut from forests we can name, upholstered in fabrics from mills we visit, joined with techniques that will outlast anything structural failure can do to a home.
Our Bristol workshop employs 14 craftspeople. Every jointery decision is made by a human with a tool, not a machine with a tolerance. This is not nostalgia. It is quality control.

Previously at Vitsœ and Established & Sons. Elara founded Aura in 2018 with a single belief: that good furniture is a form of care.
Jonas Eld
Head of Materials
Trained at the Royal College of Art. Jonas sources every timber from named forests and has spent 15 years building relationships with tanneries and stone quarries across Europe.
Priya Narayan
B2B Studio Director
Former interior architect at Conran & Partners. Priya leads our contract and commercial division, delivering programmes from single rooms to full hospitality builds.
How we work
The Process
01
Material Conversation
We begin by selecting the timber, stone, or textile before a single dimension is drawn. The material determines the form.

Design & Drawing
Pencil on paper, then CAD. Every joint is drawn before it is cut. Every surface considered in relation to every other.
03
Workshop Craft
Hand-tool joinery, machine-guided precision where it serves the piece. A mortise-and-tenon joint takes 90 minutes. We take 90 minutes.
04
Finishing
Five coats of hand-rubbed oil. Three of wax. No lacquer, no spray finish — only treatments that you can renew yourself, at home, forever.
05
White-Glove Delivery
Custom packaging, two-person delivery team, installation and placement included. We don't leave until it's right.
